Hello, we are She Can Make a Difference. We are young girls who are trying to make a difference across the city of Columbus, Ohio. We are all seniors from Columbus Alternative High School or for short CAHS. We hope to expand our organization nation wide one day to help every girl realize that she can make a difference!

Julia Allwein
Julia Allwein is the Co-head of She Can Make a Difference. She is also the president of the CAHS chorale and Co-founder of the CAHS Amnesty International chapter. She is passionate about expanding opportunities for all women and promoting ideas of intersectional feminism, because if some women are excluded it is no longer true liberation for any woman. When she isn't working with SCMAD she is continually singing or playing soccer!

April Martinez
April Martinez is a scholar at CAHS. She is both the wed designer and web publisher for SCMAD. She loves to watch movies and listen to varies types of music. She does baton twirling for Marion Franklin High School. Being a Latina woman she is a strong advocate for social change. She plans to attend Otterbein University this upcoming fall.

Ruth Ojerinde
Ruth Ojerinde was a volunteer at Grant Hospital in the NICU. She is a lover of babies and because of this she aspires to go into the medical field. In her free times she loves to play the violin. Although, she doesn't speak on it much it is her private hobby. When she isn't playing she's helping not only her friends, but others as well.

Kanyinsola Oye
Kanyinsola Oye is one of the co-founders of She Can Make A Difference. She started She Can Make a Difference because she realized how essential it was for young girls to acquire forms of confidence at a young age. She is also the co-head of Amnesty International CCS chapter. In the Amnesty International Student CCS chapter, she addresses and advocates for varying human rights violations, that take place worldwide. Lastly, she was fortunate enough, to be a student organizer for March For Our Lives ( Columbus chapter) and create change within her community, In her free time Kanyinsola enjoys reading and writing poetry.

Monica Alonso
Monica Alonso is a senior at Columbus Alternative High School. With her dedication to Amnesty International (CCS) and She Can Make A Difference - both of which she is secretary - she is actively seeking liberation for marginalized communities. Moreover, she is an advocate for mental health education. In her free time, Monica enjoys reading, writing, and watching On My Block!

Rebecca Owusu
Rebecca Owusu joined the She Can Make a Difference team in September of 2017. She joined She Can Make a Difference because she could see the impact that it could have on young girls & wanted to be a part of that important movement. She thinks it's important for every girl to be confident in their own body. In her free time she enjoys reading, cooking and fashion design.

Brittany Stewart
Brittany Stewart is a senior at Columbus Alternative High School where she maintains a rigorous IB course load, founded a Natural Hair Cub, is a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Debate Team that won first place this year, and a founding member of the school’s Junior Statesmen of America (JSA) Chapter. Fueling her passion for community development, government and politics, Stewart is an inaugural member of the Franklin County Youth Council, where she advocates for the advancement of youth. She also graduated from the JSA Institute of Leadership and Politics at Princeton University. At her church, Equip U Ministries, she serves on the Victoria L. Dunn Scholarship Fundraising Committee.
Brittany is an avid reader, writer, mixed media artist, and loves dancing. Currently, she interns in the City of Columbus Mayor's Office and aspires to major in Political Science and later attend law school.
